January 2012 News

Hey everyone, hope you all had a good new year. Mine was spent at home chilling and watching TV. I did play a show on New Year’s Day though, an afternoon set at London’s Vibe Bar. It was really cool, fairly packed and therefore a lot more people than I expected on NYD… Zaki and the MUAK Crew brought a huge sound-system for the occasion, which was really nice of them. I played a lot of quality house from the past few years, as well as some NU-Disco (which I’ve really been getting into lately) and everyone enjoyed it it seems. The track of the day was the new Prince single though, you simply cannot beat the master himself!

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I have 3 remixes out this month, so please feel free to check em out if feel like it :)
First of is my remix of UK-based producer Zeitgeist on Save Room Recordings, “I Dance For No Reason”. It’s a bit darker than my usual stuff, but I was trying out the new equipment I bought recently (another post on this topic soon) and I was trying to emulate my favourite producer-du-jour (if you’ve heard me play out lately or have been checking my charts out, you’ll no doubt know who I’m talking about). I tried it out a few weeks ago in Mexico City and it sounded ACE! So far it has gained support from the likes of the Timewriter, Shur-I-Kan, Butch, Kruse & Nuernberg and many more. This track came out on Beatport a couple of days ago and here’s the link for you to check it out –> http://www.beatport.com/track/i-dance-for-no-reason-giom-remix/3173637

OUT NOW : Zeitgeist – I Dance For No Reason (Giom Remix) – Save Room Recordings by Giom

Next, coming out on Beatport on January 16th and elsewhere on the 30th, is my remix of Jon Delerious’ “Believe In Me” on OH-WHAT-A-SURPRISE Lost My Dog Records. This time I brought the tempo down and tried to do an intro-type track. I haven’t played it out yet. But hopefully soon YOU will and can let me know how it sounds on a system.

COMING SOON Jon Delerious – Believe In You (Giom Remix) by Giom

And finally, coming out on January 16th on Traxsource and elsewhere on the 30th, is a remix I did for the Good Voodoo Society. I took their “Unified” track apart and reworked it onto a fairly accessible and commercial (!) mix, but please don’t worry oh-underground-househead, there’s a dub too, with cut-up vocals and everything ;)

HAVE A LISTEN!
