Hey everyone,
It’s been a busy couple of months here at Giom’s (new) HQ, so a catch-up blog is well overdue…
Here’s the story: First of all I moved out of my old flat and onto a new place, which also means new studio… which is ACE! Getting rid of old junk and selling equipment I don’t use was really needed and has now been done! Here’s a photo of the new studio for you all to see :)
So that took ages as you can imagine… but now things are finally starting to fall into place so I can start being productive again…
Next, the big news, my first ever MIX ALBUM is coming out on Lost My Dog Records next month, on May 9th to be precise. It’s called “Clips & Space” and is a selection/mash-up of my all-time favourite Lost My Dog tracks. The album contains also exclusive tracks that I reworked exclusively for the mix, such as Jake Childs’s Paradise and YSE’s Guessing Games (feel free to clink on the links to hear a special preview of these 2 tracks…), which will all be available separately at a later date. Check LMD’s Soundcloud page for more info on to how to pre-order the cd copy and other goodies and how to get of FREE MP3 from me. You can also hear a special 10min preview of the cd version, so really everyone’s a winner here :) CHECK IT OUT. And finally, to celebrate the release, me and the LMD family are doing a launch party at London’s best club, FABRIC, on May 7th with myself, Pete Dafeet and the amazing Burnski. It is my first time “headlining” this place so if you happen to be in town for this weekend, i could really do with your support :)
Next, I have a new EP out RIGHT NOW: World Go Round, on Defected’s new sub-label Lo:Rise. It’s a track i did with Nathan G and it’s actually Beatportal’s NUMBER ONE MUST HEAR house track of the week, which is pretty cool indeed. It’s now available to buy from Beatport and Traxsource. We also did an interview for Defected TV which is quite funny, especially if you’d like to know what is my all-time favourite House track and mainly hear Nathan G doing an impression of his favourite synth… Check it out :)
Me and Nathan also did an exclusive 30min mix especially for them Defected people, here it is for you guys!
Giom & Nathan Lo:Rise Mix by Hi:Rise / Lo:Rise
On the gig front, I played a show in Venice Italy last week, my first one, which was really awesome so I wanted to thank Fabio and Alessandro for sorting everything out and introducing me to black pasta, crazy and delicious.. Here’s a short vid of last week’s gig at TAG Club
And finally……
… my remix of Giovanni Damico’s “Can Be Other” is now available on vinyl from our friends Juno Records, so go on, all you vinyl heads, treat yourself, there’s a lot of brilliant tracks to choose from right now, and I also did a chart for it which contains some of the best deep house tracks I’ve heard in a long time, check it out!!
That’s it for now, but don’t worry you’ll be hearing a lot from me a lot more in the next few days, if you’re not sick by all this self promotion already ;)
Speak soon,
Giom
