The Classics Part.1 – OUT NOW
Hello friends: after a fairly long hiatus, I’m “back”. Well sort of: I have been making new music which will come out sometime this year, but this release here is a collection of some of my own personal favourites, for the 1st time (or a long time) pressed on vinyl.
This is Part.1 which features the 2015 debut release on my digi-label Supremus, The Message. I was always really proud of this track and always wished it’d made it to vinyl, so here we go: that epic spoken word by the legendary session bassist Abraham Laboriel Snr never sounded so good…
Next up is People. Originally released back in 2007 on the now-gone Motion Music, this was one of the tracks that put me on the map so here it is again, sounding fatter than ever (all these have been re-mastered especially for vinyl by my man Rob Small): It’s like WMC08 all over again!
Finally, Last Dance was originally released on my 2nd solo EP on Supremus, also back in 2015. I was making Nu Disco kinda tracks back then and also always thought of this track as quite vinyl-ey, and so now’s the time.
The support on the vinyl has been truly amazing, we went all the way to #2 on Juno’s Deep House charts and at #8 of all overall sales, which is an amazing achievement in my opinion (Gala‘s Freed from Desire and Siouxie & the Banshees were leading the way, but that was all before Atjazz kicked my ass out of the top 5 with his brilliant new album.)
